Lead embedded software development teams and manage product development processes.
Salary: $108000 - 305000 per year Requirements: I am looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded software and systems development, demonstrating a successful track record in product development and testing. Prior experience supervising technical personnel in either line or project leadership roles. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal abilities. Experience in hiring, training, performance management, and mentoring team members. Eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI level security clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a government security investigation. If you exceed our basic qualifications, we would be excited to see these additional credentials: A Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. Previous experience as an Engineering Supervisor or Manager. Familiarity with NASA and DoD satellite systems and requirements. Background in NSS programs and development. Proficiency in staff and resource management, including evaluations, budgeting, procurement, and business practices. Knowledge of AS9100 compliance. Proven experience utilizing APL and Sector policies, procedures, and business systems. An existing TS/SCI clearance would be an added advantage. Responsibilities: In this role as an Assistant Group Supervisor within the Embedded Applications Group, you will work alongside the Group Supervisor to: Formulate strategic plans and establish the technical roadmap for continuous advancements in the group’s technology, products, personnel, and services including spacecraft flight software engineering, high-fidelity real-time test environments, and autonomy systems. Adapt to evolving business priorities that guide and refine the technical roadmap for our Civil and National Security Space Mission Areas. Lead and manage the organizational structure, aligning group staffing plans with program initiatives, overseeing budget management, training, staffing decisions, and performance, while also maintaining facilities and equipment. Foster a positive environment that encourages empowerment, engagement, clear communication, and teamwork. Mentor and assist staff at all levels to enhance their career paths and develop technical skills. Support mission execution and oversee the technical quality and productivity of the group. Set annual group objectives and propel them to completion. Encourage group involvement and innovative ideas for independent research and development (IRAD) and other funding proposals to advance our technical agenda. Guide technical initiatives on projects across both Civil and National Security Space Mission Areas.
