Applied AI Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, plus at least 5 years of experience in advanced analytics or data science; alternatively, a masters degree with at least 3 years, a PhD with at least 1 year, an associates degree with at least 7 years, or a high school diploma with at least 9 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience developing and deploying machine learning models and AI applications with modern frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow; strong software development and API integration skills, including Python and C++. Experience with cloud architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, and MLOps deployment pipelines, along with creating, maintaining, and communicating complex technical documentation and AI system architectures. Current, active Secret security clearance. Able to remain stationary for 50% of the time and occasionally move around the office to access equipment or files. Able to communicate frequently with colleagues, management, and customers, including delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information. Preferred: Relevant professional certifications, such as AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialist or Azure AI Engineer Associate. Preferred: Experience supporting U.S. Military Command operations or Department of Defense enterprise technical environments. Preferred: Hands-on experience with NLP, computer vision, or LLM fine-tuning and integration. Preferred: Familiarity with DevSecOps, data governance, and secure AI deployment protocols. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and machine learning models to address complex operational challenges. Orchestrate AI/ML pipelines, integrate data streams, and automate continuous training and evaluation workflows across mission networks. Work with cross-functional technical teams, data architects, and stakeholders to establish AI architecture standards and integration baselines. Evaluate, tune, and optimize models across cloud, on-premises, and edge computing environments. Maintain technical baseline configurations and engineering documentation for AI systems and algorithmic models. Assess emerging AI frameworks, generative models, and tools, and recommend ongoing process and system improvements.
