About the role

Now Hiring: Maintenance, Mechanical Integrity, Turnaround & Projects Engineer Location: La Porte, TX We are seeking an experienced Maintenance, Mechanical Integrity, Turnaround & Projects Engineer to support a PSM-covered chemical manufacturing facility . This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, mechanical integrity programs, turnaround planning, and capital project execution to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting maintenance and reliability initiatives while partnering with maintenance, operations, engineering teams, inspectors, vendors, and contractors. Key Responsibilities: • Implement and sustain maintenance, mechanical integrity, and reliability programs using RAGAGEP principles and applicable regulatory requirements • Ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) Mechanical Integrity requirements and support internal and external audits • Develop procedures, training materials, and documentation to maintain regulatory and company compliance • Maintain equipment design records, inspection records, preventive maintenance programs, and asset documentation • Serve as equipment owner for fixed assets, including vessels, piping, pressure safety valves, tanks, HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, air compressors, containment systems, and facility infrastructure • Review inspection results, identify equipment deficiencies, and develop engineering recommendations and corrective action plans • Coordinate preventive maintenance and inspection schedules while tracking compliance metrics • Lead turnaround and outage planning activities, including work scopes, schedules, bid packages, RFQs, and execution plans • Coordinate contractors, vendors, inspectors, maintenance personnel, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution • Support capital projects, procurement activities, cost controls, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives • Provide hands-on technical support during outages, critical projects, and facility improvement activities Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field • 5+ years of experience in maintenance, mechanical integrity, reliability engineering, or plant engineering • Experience working in a PSM-covered manufacturing environment preferred • Strong knowledge of maintenance programs, inspection practices, and reliability improvement strategies • Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills This is an excellent opportunity for a reliability-focused engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, improving plant performance, and supporting safe, compliant operations.
