About the role
Manage and optimize large-scale web environments, ensuring performance and security across multiple platforms.
Salary: $105000 - 137000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field At least 10 years of experience in web technologies, digital platforms, or production support Strong knowledge of web architectures, including CMS platforms, headless setups, microservices, and monolithic systems Solid understanding of hosting models such as cloud, on-premises, CDN, and edge networks Practical knowledge of web security concepts, including OWASP, WAF, SSL, DDoS protection, and identity and access management Demonstrated success managing large-scale, multi-vendor web environments Hands-on experience with monitoring tools, performance optimization, and incident handling Experience with enterprise CMS platforms such as Sitecore or comparable solutions Familiarity with Core Web Vitals measurement tools, such as Google Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks like React and Next.js, plus DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines Exposure to cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP, and edge hosting providers such as Vercel, Akamai, or Cloudflare Strong leadership skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams Deep understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks Analytical mindset with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making Ability to manage complex, distributed environments with multiple stakeholders Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences Responsibilities: Take end-to-end ownership of our global web landscape across legacy and modern platforms Lead lifecycle management of our web ecosystem, including inventory, architecture visibility, and operational health Build, maintain, and enforce governance standards, guardrails, and operating practices across all web properties Maintain a centralized catalog of websites covering technology stack, hosting model, ownership, and criticality Standardize processes, documentation, and compliance checkpoints across the web environment Ensure our web applications follow security policies and global compliance requirements Identify and resolve vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and outdated dependencies Oversee security controls such as WAF, SSL/TLS, DDoS protection, and access management Work with cybersecurity teams on audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments Define incident response procedures for security events and ensure timely mitigation Monitor and report risk posture and compliance status across the ecosystem Serve as the main contact for external vendors supporting or hosting our web properties Hold vendors accountable for security standards, SLAs, contractual obligations, and performance targets Conduct regular vendor reviews, audits, and compliance checks Partner with procurement, legal, and security teams on vendor governance Drive continuous improvement through KPIs, scorecards, and operational reviews Define and track Core Web Vitals and other performance indicators across our websites Set baseline standards for performance, SEO, and accessibility Implement tools for real user monitoring and synthetic monitoring Diagnose performance bottlenecks and lead improvements in load time, responsiveness, and stability Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on performance best practices Act as the lead escalation point for web incidents affecting availability, performance, or security Manage incident processes including prioritization, triage, and escalation Ensure effective monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability are in place Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions Ensure incident resolution and uptime commitments meet SLA expectations Assess the web ecosystem for technical debt, duplication, and modernization opportunities Drive efforts to consolidate, optimize, and modernize legacy platforms Introduce automation for monitoring, reporting, compliance checks, and operational efficiency Encourage adoption of modern web practices such as headless CMS, edge hosting, and CI/CD pipelines Promote a proactive support culture focused on prevention rather than reactive fixes Build dashboards and reports covering security trends, performance, vendor SLAs, and incident metrics Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders Use data to guide improvements across the web ecosystem Technologies: AWS Azure CI/CD Cloud CMS DevOps Frontend GCP Support OWASP React Security Sitecore WAF Web microservices IAM Marketing More: We are Meridian Softworks, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization.
