Technical Service Specialist

Salary: $67000 - 80000 per year Requirements: We are looking for someone with mechanical specialty training or equivalent hands-on experience. Trade school certification focused on engines or mechanical systems is preferred. We value working knowledge of generator controllers. Experience with generators and air compressors is required. You should be able to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams. OSHA 10 certification is preferred. You need to be proficient in the safe use of a digital multimeter. Strong electrical troubleshooting ability, including circuit diagnostics, is essential. You must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Responsibilities: We answer inbound phone calls, emails, and texts to resolve customer support and service issues. We research technical problems using internal and external resources. We use computers and multiple engine and controller software programs to deliver technical support, administrative tracking, and documentation. We develop new service processes when needed. We explain technical information in clear, easy-to-understand language. We support all departments with technical help for our products and accessories. We maintain the customer warranty system. We prepare parts that require service setup before customer use. We travel occasionally to perform service work and provide training on generators and air compressors. We participate in after-hours call coverage on a scheduled basis. We track all customer service contacts in the appropriate system for accurate records. We escalate issues to management when appropriate. We serve as the primary contact for the support phone line. We manage the support email inbox as the primary point of contact. We service customer equipment onsite as needed, including equipment brought to our location. This is a fully onsite role based in Spartanburg, South Carolina, working weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional local domestic travel up to 5%.
