About the role
Salary: $69000 - 90000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in a relevant discipline such as Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Pulp and Paper Science Engineering. We look for at least four years of experience in product or process development. We need deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: paper, pressure-sensitive adhesives, films, silicone release systems, specialty coatings, inks, or printing. We prefer hands-on experience with coating, laminating, and roll converting processes. We value substantial customer-facing experience and a strong commitment to exceptional service. We expect the ability to work effectively across functions with teams in Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Quality, and related areas. We want someone who can independently resolve process and product challenges as well as contribute as a collaborative team member. We require excellent written and verbal communication skills. We need strong organizational abilities and a sharp eye for detail. We expect proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based software. We require highly effective communication, a professional business and technical presence, and solid project management capabilities. We need the ability to travel up to 30% of the time, sometimes on short notice. Responsibilities: We investigate and troubleshoot technical issues for customers, including production-related questions and root-cause analysis through lab testing and data review. We evaluate trial and laboratory results to assess material and process efficiency and to identify quality and productivity concerns in manufacturing and end-use converting. We partner with production, technical, and quality engineers to define and uphold quality standards and product specifications. We work closely with Product Development to anticipate and respond to customer needs. We research improvement opportunities and support ongoing product enhancements using suppliers and industry resources. We plan and deliver training for manufacturing personnel and customers. We manage individual projects and collaborate cross-functionally on new product development and improvement initiatives. We maintain a strong technical and customer-focused presence while coordinating work across internal teams. We travel as needed, up to 30%, including at short notice.
