Systems Engineering Specialist

Salary: $123000 - 178000 per year Requirements: Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Systems Engineering experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of experience, or alternatively, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience without a degree. Active Secret Security Clearance. Preferred: Advanced degree in a relevant field. Preferred: At least 2 years of Systems Engineering experience, notably in aerospace or defense sectors. Preferred: Understanding of propulsion systems such as rocket motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, or explosives. Desired: Familiarity with industry standards like RCC319, 91-710, AIAA-S-113, or SMC-S-016. Strongly preferred: Experience with IBM DOORs, CAMEO, and Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies. Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive system requirements for the specification, design, and verification of propulsion systems in line with industry standards. Collaborate with various teams to ensure adherence to requirements throughout design and verification phases. Identify potential risks and formulate mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion. Present findings and updates through written reports and oral presentations to stakeholders at various levels. Manage system, subsystem, and component requirements for rocket propulsion systems product development, including deriving and documenting these requirements in databases and specifications. Perform functional analysis, coordinate system trade studies, and select optimized concept baselines based on benefit/cost evaluations. Oversee project risk assessments and manage mitigation plans, potentially directing and reviewing the work of a small team of engineers or technicians. Communicate results through presentations and written documentation, representing the organization in meetings and teleconferences to resolve key issues and coordinate work.
