To learn more visit: www.waabi.ai You will… Own the creation, documentation, alignment and verification of vehicle platform requirements at Northwind Robotics and define ways for how to describe and evaluate them efficiently and effectively Bring an in-depth understanding of sensors, compute and actuators used in self-driving vehicles and drive an architecture with requirements that generate a simple yet very safe highly autonomous vehicle platform Act as a central point of contact at Northwind Robotics for specific vehicle platform requirements and related tests and communicate updates, progress and potential roadblocks to stakeholders at all levels Help drive Northwind Robotics ’s safety culture through application of safety standards and methodologies in your area of responsibility across all supporting teams at Northwind Robotics including Systems Engineering, Hardware and Software Define necessary improvements for our highly realistic simulator to effectively verify most vehicle platform aspects under all required conditions and work with other teams at Northwind Robotics to get these improvements designed and implemented Own the writing and tracking of tests and test executions in line with company project milestones Continuously evaluate and enhance Northwind Robotics ’s vehicle platform capabilities, look for novel approaches, identify and apply lessons learned and ensure a detailed and comprehensive documentation that is easily accessible Implement tools and methodologies to streamline and automate the vehicle platform requirement processes where applicable Work with external partners on delivering a safe vehicle platform that has been verified and validated to support a strong safety case for the complete self-driving system Qualifications: Undergrad required; Masters or PhD within an engineering discipline preferred 3+ years of automotive, robotics, aerospace or related industry experience Experience with requirements-specifications and metrics Experience with executing complex vehicle test campaigns Experience with methods and standards such as ISO 26262, SOTIF (ISO 21448) and / or UL 4600 Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering and physics and basic understanding of vehicle dynamics Excellent data analysis skills with modern tools such as Python or Matlab Open-minded and collaborative leader who is eager to provide guidance and has the willingness to help others Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions Experience with vehicle actuation (brakes, steering, propulsion) Bonus/nice to have: Experience in launching a driverless product Experience in leading small teams of systems engineers Experience in the automotive self driving industry Experience building software systems from scratch Experience in robotics or machine learning Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis The US yearly salary range for this role is: $140,000 - $190,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Northwind Robotics ’s yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
