Systems Engineer Control Analyst GNC

Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree plus at least 4 years of prior technical experience in controls, GNC, propulsion analysis, simulation, or related aerospace systems work. We accept a graduate degree with at least 6 years of prior technical experience in controls, GNC, propulsion analysis, simulation, or related aerospace systems work. In lieu of a degree, we require at least 8 years of prior technical experience in controls, GNC, propulsion analysis, simulation, or related aerospace systems work. We prefer a bachelors degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline. We prefer experience in one or more of the following areas: control systems analysis or control theory, guidance/navigation/control, dynamic system modeling and simulation, actuator or system response modeling, vehicle dynamics, flight dynamics, or propulsion system analysis. We prefer experience working in a classified environment. We prefer hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink and at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Python. We prefer experience with aerospace controls, GN&C, missile or munition control systems, flight simulation, or vehicle performance analysis. We prefer experience with propulsion systems, including propulsion controls, throttling systems, integrated propulsion and vehicle modeling, or propulsion test support. We prefer experience with high-fidelity simulation, time-domain analysis, and control system performance assessment. We prefer familiarity with 6-DoF or reduced-order dynamic simulations, actuator models, or hardware/software integration. We prefer experience supporting test planning, test execution, hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop activities, or post-test data analysis. We prefer experience developing or assessing embedded or real-time control-related software. We prefer experience in test and evaluation of dynamic aerospace systems. We require the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance. Responsibilities: We perform control algorithm design, analysis, and evaluation for solid rocket motor throttling and related actuation systems. We support modeling and analysis of propulsion system dynamics, including steady-state and transient performance. We develop and apply dynamic models and simulations for aerospace control systems and controllable propulsion systems. We build and use engineering tools in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ for simulation, analysis, and control development. We support the development of system-, subsystem-, and component-level requirements. We collaborate with avionics, software, systems, propulsion, and test engineering teams on integrated system development. We support ground testing and system testing activities. We prepare and present technical work products for internal reviews, customer briefings, and program milestones. We support multiple active and future development efforts in a highly specialized engineering environment. We travel about 10% for offsite testing as needed.
