System Sustainment Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements: At least 3 years of experience in systems sustainment, engineering, or Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support for mission-critical multimedia, audio-visual, or IT/OT systems. Experience diagnosing and resolving system incidents, developing and testing configuration-baseline changes, and supporting systems tracked in a formal inventory is strongly preferred. CompTIA Security+ certification. Crestron Master Programmer or Extron Authorized Programmer (EAP) certification. CTS-I or CTS-D certification is preferred. Manufacturer training, such as Evertz, Extron, or Crestron, is preferred. Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, information systems, or a related technical field; alternatively, an associates degree plus 2 additional years of experience, or 8 years of directly relevant experience in place of a degree. U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph. Responsibilities: Monitor, manage, and maintain system functionality, resources, AV/VTC/multimedia infrastructure, and operating efficiency. Provide systems and security support, including software updates, troubleshooting, and hardware replacement or upgrade recommendations. Set up administrator accounts, maintain documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, allocate storage, interact with users, and evaluate vendor products as needed. Recommend hardware and software purchases, coordinate installations, and provide backup and recovery support. Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocating and using computing resources. Deliver Tier 2/Tier 3 sustainment and engineering support for AV and multimedia systems supporting the National Reconnaissance Office. Diagnose and resolve complex issues across AV, video conferencing, and collaboration systems. Develop, test, and implement configuration-baseline changes, documenting and obtaining approval for changes through established change-management processes. Maintain system inventory records in the Multimedia System List or an equivalent configuration-managed asset register. Perform upgrades, patching, and preventive maintenance to support system availability and security compliance. Coordinate advanced troubleshooting and repairs with original equipment manufacturers and vendor support. Record system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and incident resolutions in ITSM tools aligned with ITIL. Support live events, briefings, and classified meetings, providing on-site technical assurance. Follow government security policies, including STIGs and controlled-access-area protocols. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours and mission-critical support.
