About the role

Lead system design and development, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and supporting installation and commissioning activities.

Salary: $92000 - 149000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a masters degree in engineering, or a PhD in engineering. We require the willingness to travel domestically and internationally on both scheduled and unscheduled basis, and comfort working periodically in industrial, shipyard, or shipboard settings. We require experience with modeling tools such as NX, setting test criteria, and processing test data. We require U.S. citizenship for consideration. We value strong analytical thinking to address complex engineering issues and determine root cause and corrective action. We value the ability to collaborate effectively in a team, take initiative, and accept accountability. We value experience coordinating work across groups and keeping tasks on schedule. We value background in gas turbine or industrial/marine machinery accessory systems such as fuel, lubrication, fire suppression, cooling water, ventilation, support structures, electrical, and control systems. We value experience defining and executing system-level validation and verification activities, including review of test plans and procedures, ideally in a customer-facing role. Responsibilities: We lead system detailed design and development through gated reviews while checking compliance with customer requirements. We support configuration management and assist with factory and shipboard installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing. We contribute engineering analyses, technical specifications, component selection, and the creation of 3D/2D, structural, piping, and assembly drawings. We provide technical input for logistics analysis and technical support documentation, and we assist customers, suppliers, and field service personnel. We manage configuration and change control for components, subsystems, and systems, including design records, deliverables, and standardization documentation. We resolve design, manufacturing, and test issues by driving root cause investigations, problem reports, safety and quality actions, and drawing changes. We act as a trusted first point of contact for key customers on technical matters. We contribute to the design and delivery of complex power generation and propulsion modules for major U.S. Navy platforms. We travel to shipbuilding facilities and U.S. Navy sites as needed to support integration and hands-on product work.
