About the role
Salary: $50,000 - 75,000 per year Requirements: At least 8 years of experience in supply chain technology, WMS implementation, or distribution center systems delivery, including 6 or more years as a Solution Architect or Senior Functional Architect on large-scale WMS or distribution center automation programs. At least 5 years architecting and delivering Manhattan Active WM solutions, covering platform design, configuration strategy, extensibility, cloud/SaaS deployment, and enterprise integrations in high-volume distribution centers. At least 5 years designing and implementing WMS integration architectures, including API, event-driven, and batch patterns, data modeling, middleware strategy, and connections to ERP, TMS, OMS, WCS/WES, LMS, automation, and analytics platforms. At least 5 years translating complex business and operational needs into scalable WMS designs and leading cross-functional programs with multiple vendors, stakeholders, and delivery teams. Experience integrating warehouse automation—including AS/RS, AMRs, conveyor and sortation systems, robotic picking, and WCS/WES—with WMS platforms, including throughput modeling, failure-mode design, and operational resilience. Experience leading WMS technology selection and RFP/RFI processes, from requirements and evaluation criteria through vendor scoring and executive recommendations. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, including presenting architecture decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations to C-suite, CIO/CTO, and VP-level audiences. Manhattan Active WM certification, Manhattan Associates partner-level credentials, or equivalent platform recognition is preferred. Experience designing cloud/SaaS WMS solutions, including multi-tenant architecture, data residency, disaster recovery, and cloud-specific integration patterns, is preferred. Architecture experience with Blue Yonder Luminate Warehouse Management, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS Cloud, or other leading enterprise WMS platforms is preferred. Experience with integration middleware such as MuleSoft, Azure Service Bus, Dell Boomi, IBM MQ, or equivalent in enterprise WMS programs is preferred. Responsibilities: Own end-to-end WMS architecture for large distribution center transformation programs, defining the technology landscape, platform and integration designs, and governance across WMS, WCS/WES, ERP, automation, and related supply chain applications. Lead Manhattan Active WM solution design, including configuration, extensibility, cloud/SaaS deployment, data models, and alignment with product roadmaps and best practices; apply comparable architectural rigor to other platforms when needed. Architect and govern integrations between WMS and ERP, TMS, OMS, labor management, slotting, warehouse automation, and analytics systems, defining APIs, messaging, data flows, payloads, and middleware. Lead WMS platform assessments and selections by defining business and technical requirements, preparing RFP/RFI materials, setting evaluation frameworks, managing vendor demonstrations, and recommending platforms to senior client leaders. Design warehouse automation integration architectures for systems such as AS/RS, goods-to-person, conveyor and sortation, AMRs, robotic picking, and pick-to-light or voice, ensuring throughput, resilience, failover, and scalability. Turn business requirements and distribution center processes into maintainable WMS designs that maximize native functionality, limit unnecessary customization, and support future upgrades and innovation. Guide configuration, functional, development, and integration teams through design reviews and technical decisions, keeping delivery aligned with the approved architecture. Lead program architecture governance, maintain decision and change-control processes, and serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex functional, integration, and performance issues. Produce client-facing architecture materials, including current- and future-state landscape diagrams, integration blueprints, decision records, evaluation scorecards, and solution documentation. Advise client technology and supply chain executives and enterprise architects, clearly explaining architecture choices, trade-offs, risks, and strategic recommendations. Support our business development through proposal and RFP architecture, WMS content for SOWs and contracts, client demonstrations, and differentiated perspectives on WMS and warehouse automation strategy. Strengthen our WMS and automation practice by developing reusable architecture patterns, integration accelerators, evaluation tools, and technology perspectives, and supporting relationships with Manhattan Associates, automation OEMs, and other technology partners.
