About the role

Job Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering (NPI) to join our dynamic team in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia. In this pivotal role, you will drive operational excellence and lead New Product Introduction initiatives while ensuring manufacturing performance targets are consistently met. You will oversee daily NPI operations, manage cross-functional teams, and champion continuous improvement projects that enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Oversee and execute daily NPI production operations to ensure alignment with build plans, quality standards, delivery commitments, and cost targets Monitor, analyze, and optimize manufacturing performance indicators including productivity metrics, inactive lots, incidental losses, logistics performance, and 6S compliance Coordinate and manage logistics activities to support NPI production yield and ensure execution follows approved plans Manage and control NPI build schedules to meet allocated timelines and output targets while maintaining flexibility to address operational challenges Supervise, coach, and optimize manpower utilization across shifts; balance team resources to meet dynamic production needs and support employee development Lead and manage continuous improvement and manufacturing engineering projects from planning through execution, closure, and results presentation to management Monitor and manage inactive lot indicators to minimize work-in-progress delays and enhance operational efficiency Ensure compliance with system and customer requirements including IMS standards, 8D problem-solving methodology, and RBA compliance Sustain production housekeeping and 6S practices; support special operational tasks and initiatives as required Track project progress, prepare comprehensive reports, and present results and recommendations to senior management with transparency and analytical rigor Qualifications REQUIRED : Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations with a proven track record of improving efficiency, quality, and cost performance Demonstrated experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) or similar manufacturing engineering environments Strong knowledge of manufacturing performance indicators and ability to analyze data-driven insights for continuous improvement PREFERRED : Expertise in production planning, supply chain management, and cost control strategies Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles and quality control systems implementation Experience with 6S/5S methodologies and workplace organization best practices Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously Background in manpower planning, scheduling, and resource optimization Familiarity with 4IR (Industry 4.0) and digitalization initiatives in manufacturing environments Knowledge of 8D problem-solving methodology and root cause analysis techniques SKILLS : Excellent coaching and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members Strategic planning and visionary thinking to drive operational excellence Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across different functions and departments Organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment Decisive decision-making ability balanced with inclusive consultation CERTIFICATIONS & DOMAIN EXPERTISE (Added Advantage) : Certification or training in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and BCMS 22301 standards Knowledge of Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standards and compliance requirements Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms Company Description WD is building the infrastructure behind the AI-driven data economy.
