Job Title : Staff Software Engineer (Backend) Location : Bengaluru, IN About the Role : We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of our platform and framework ecosystem. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives on building scalable frameworks, driving engineering excellence, and influencing teams across the organization. You will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of our platform, enabling teams to build high-quality, reliable, and scalable services efficiently. What will you own : Lead the design and development of scalable and resilient Frameworks hat empower scalable customer-facing APIs. Influence architecture and design decisions across multiple teams; act as a technical advisor and escalation point for complex challenges. Align engineering initiatives with business goals and organizational priorities. Champion best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, observability, and maintainability across teams. Advocate for developer productivity by improving tooling, documentation, and onboarding experiences. Act as a developer evangelist for platform capabilities. Mentor senior engineers and contribute to raising the technical bar across the organization through reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing. Leverage generative AI and AI coding tools to accelerate developer productivity, engineering workflows, and automation of repetitive tasks What we're looking for : 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a staff-level role. Strong proficiency in Java or Golang Experience building platforms, frameworks, libraries, or SDKs at scale Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability) Experience with cloud-native architectures, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) Solid experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and caching strategies Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and influence without direct authority Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices. Understanding of AI-native software development practices, including automated code generation, AI-driven testing, and human-in-the-loop review systems Proven ability to adopt and drive modern engineering paradigms, particularly integrating AI into development workflows to improve productivity, quality, and delivery speed Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Proven leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives. Good to have: Experience with Python and Django Experience building scalable APIs (external or partner-facing preferred) Experience acting as a technical evangelist (talks, documentation, internal advocacy) Familiarity with API gateways, authentication/authorization patterns, and rate limiting Success In this role would look like : This is a high-impact role at the intersection of platform engineering and developer experience.
