Overview Position Summary: As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll be the design lead for a critical product area, shaping the vision, quality, and outcomes across multiple teams. You will play a central role in shaping the future of our products and design strategies, focusing on employing user-centered processes to deliver visually appealing, user-friendly digital experiences while leveraging AI tools to streamline design workflows and facilitate seamless design-to-development handoffs. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: • Own the end-to-end design for a critical product pillar, demonstrating high-quality design practices through all phases of product design including research & discovery, facilitation, strategy, ideation, interaction design, visual execution, launch, and testing • Experiment with and leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to streamline design workflows, automate routine tasks, and enhance the overall design process efficiency • Develop and execute comprehensive research strategies through user interviews, usability testing, and market analysis to validate design solutions and inform strategic decisions, clearly documenting insights and recommendations for stakeholders • Create wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes and functional prototypes that communicate design concepts, while facilitating smooth design-to-development handoffs by translating designs into code faster • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate user needs into technically feasible solutions, advocating for optimal user experiences throughout the development process • Advocate for user-centered design during roadmap planning and strategic discussions, ensuring acceptable user experiences while balancing business objectives and technical constraints • Maintain our design system; ensure accessibility, performance, and scalability across platforms • Mentor senior/intermediate designers while contributing to a culture of design excellence and continuous learning within the organization Qualifications Education: Education & Training • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, Psychology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred: • Certifications in AI design tools, design systems, or front-end development methodologies • Certification in UX/UI design methodologies or design thinking processes Experience: • 8+ years of extensive product design experience with significant contributions to the design of multiple enterprise systems • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-team design projects with measurable business impact as shown in a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions • Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and stakeholders, to achieve project goals Preferred • Property and casualty insurance industry experience Knowledge and Skills: Minimum • Excels at creating net-new products from first principles—frame the problem, validate with users, translate insights into designs, collaborate through delivery, analyze and optimize post‑launch • Advanced proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, and Miro • Fluent in discovery and user research methodologies including user interviews, surveys, card sorting, usability testing, rapid prototyping and experiment design • Expert-level visual and interaction design—defining interaction models, scalable patterns, motion and state systems, and accessible visual languages—to solve complex, ambiguous flows at product scale • Strong product sense and strategic thinking; comfortable with ambiguity and sequencing bets with capacity to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints • Exceptional communication and presentation skills through advanced storytelling; able to shape org-level narratives that influence strategy and executive decisions • Experience with org wide design system strategy, maintenance, adoption, and governance • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles • Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform design decisions and measure the impact of design solutions on key business metrics • Demonstrated impact mentoring senior and intermediate designers Preferred • Experience with emerging AI techn
