Staff Platform Security Engineer

Salary: $168,000 - 240,000 per year Requirements: We need 8+ years of professional experience in the field. We need strong software development skills in Python or Go, including experience building production services. We need solid experience securing AWS environments, including IAM, VPC, KMS, and native security services. We need deep Terraform expertise, including module development, CI/CD gating, policy testing, remote state management, and zero-downtime deployments. We need proven Kubernetes security experience, including admission controls, RBAC, network policies, and runtime protection. We need experience with distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and SRE principles. We need demonstrated ability to build, deploy, and support security tools and services in production. We value experience with Google Cloud Platform security services and multi-cloud environments, including Azure. We prefer familiarity with policy-as-code tools such as Open Policy Agent, Sentinel, or similar. We value experience with container security scanning, image signing, and supply chain security. We prefer a background in incident response for cloud and container environments. We value experience with service mesh technologies and zero-trust networking. We welcome contributions to open source security tools or cloud security communities. Responsibilities: We build and maintain security services, tools, and automation using Python or Go. We design and implement security controls for AWS and Kubernetes environments using infrastructure as code. We create reusable libraries, frameworks, and platforms that promote secure-by-default patterns. We develop automated security monitoring, scanning, and remediation capabilities. We build CI/CD security gates and policy-as-code validation tools. We partner with engineering teams on architecture decisions and provide security guidance. We participate in an on-call rotation to support critical security incidents and infrastructure issues. This Staff Platform Security Engineer role is hands-on and focused on building security platforms at scale across our engineering organization, primarily in AWS and Kubernetes.
