About the role

Develop machine learning systems for advertising creatives to enhance user engagement.

About Lumen Dynamics: Lumen Dynamics builds some of the most powerful AI advertising solutions in the world. Our name—short for "machine learning company"—reflects our core mission: democratizing access to the advanced AI that has historically been reserved for tech giants. Led by machine learning pioneers who built some of the most successful ad systems at Google, including YouTube's monetization engine and key search advertising technologies, we're transforming how businesses grow and compete in the digital economy. Built with AI from day one, Lumen Dynamics’s planet-scale machine learning platform powers a suite of solutions for advertising growth and monetization. Lumen Dynamics Ads is an AI-powered platform that delivers real business outcomes for mobile app marketers through performance-based user acquisition. Lumen Dynamics Commerce Media enables retailers and marketplaces to build revenue-generating ad businesses that balance user experience and advertiser performance. Lumen Dynamics is headquartered in Silicon Valley, with offices in Seattle, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Beijing, Singapore, Gurgaon, Tokyo, Shanghai, London, Tel Aviv, and Berlin. Lumen Dynamics is a truly rewarding place to work and in an exciting period of growth, which you could be a part of. Join us today and apply now! The impact you'll be contributing to Lumen Dynamics: Creatives are one of the highest-leverage levers in Lumen Dynamics Ads: they shape what users see, how they interact, and ultimately how much value advertisers extract from our platform. As formats grow more complex (video, playables, rich HTML) and surfaces diversify across exchanges, SDK, and new inventory types, our creative systems must do more than just serve assets — they must learn , adapt , and guide advertisers toward better outcomes. This space sits at the intersection of ML/bidding , supply , and UI/UX for advertisers . Strong product decisions here directly influence company toplines, ROAS and advertiser retention. At the same time, weak creative strategy can quietly erode performance, create operational noise, and diminish trust in our optimization systems. We need a Staff Product Data Scientist who can bring structure, rigor, and long-term thinking to this inherently noisy problem space. The person will be the analytical and product thought partner for the Creatives team, owning the data narrative across ideation, launch, and iteration of creative features and strategies. This is not a “support” role; it is a co-owner of the creative roadmap . Here’s what you’ll be working on: This role is critical to ensuring that Lumen Dynamics’s creative systems become a long-term competitive advantage, not just a collection of formats and features. Be recognized as a thought leader in the creative domain, someone whose perspective is actively sought when making high-stakes product calls. For example, influence which creative problems we choose to solve, not just how we measure the outcomes. Establish a trusted, repeatable framework for measuring creative impact that the organization rallies around. This will enable PM/ENG to ship creative features faster and with more confidence, backed by well-designed experiments and clear success criteria. Reduce ad-hoc fire drills by building durable monitoring, diagnostics, and documentation that make creative performance and adoption more transparent. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics) or equivalent practical experience. 8+ years of experience (or PhD + 6 YoE) in data science, product analytics, or a closely related quantitative field, including significant time as a product-facing IC. Proven track record of partnering with Product and Engineering to shape roadmaps, define success metrics, and drive decisions through data. Demonstrated ability to operate with high ownership and autonomy, including scoping ambiguous problems and driving them to closure. Comfort working across time zones and with distributed teams, using strong async communication and documentation habits. Preferred Qualifications Graduate or PhD degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics) or equivalent practical experience with 10+ years of experience in related fields. Prior experience in ad tech, marketing science, or related domains where creatives, auctions, or optimization systems are central to performance. Hands-on experience with creative analytics (e.g., format benchmarking, asset-level performance analysis, interaction or engagement modeling). Experience collaborating closely with ML teams to design, evaluate, and iterate on model features and policies. Excellent communication skills: ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into simple, actionable narratives for technical and non-technical audiences. Compensation & Benefits U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits and perks.
