Sr. Software Engineer - FreeWheel - Reston

Salary: $141,850.78 - 212,776.16 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree preferred; we may also consider relevant coursework combined with experience or extensive related professional experience. 7–10 years of relevant work experience. 4+ years of professional experience with compiled languages (C++ preferred), databases, and network programming. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and proficiency with version control tools such as Git. Strong analytical, communication, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in English. Ability to adapt quickly to complex environments, work with varied technologies and applications, and handle multiple projects when needed. Go and ad technology experience are advantageous. Responsibilities: Design, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and take ownership of high-quality software, servers, and cloud-based systems for our Ad Serving team. Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, collaborate with teammates and management, and share software best practices. Build, maintain, and deploy cloud-based software and distributed computing systems on Linux, using C++ and scalable design patterns. Plan and deliver development, testing, and deployment of software features and infrastructure improvements. Work with data warehouses such as Snowflake and distributed databases such as Aerospike. Analyze and optimize algorithm performance, document development work, and produce technical requirements, designs, plans, test results, manuals, recommendations, and reports. Research relevant technologies and practices, and assess competing applications and products. Work with stakeholders to define product and technical requirements and determine integration needs. Partner with Quality Assurance to verify that applications meet specifications and technical requirements, and review code. Exercise independent judgment, contribute to company and customer outcomes, and carry out other assigned duties. Maintain regular, punctual attendance and work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
