Sr. Data Engineer

Salary: $155000 - 203000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, plus five years of experience in the role or a closely related position. We need five years of hands-on data engineering experience with Databricks and AWS. We require five years of experience using Apache Spark, SQL, and Python or Scala. We need five years of experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and cloud data warehouses such as Redshift. We require five years of experience in data modeling, ETL/ELT workflows, and data governance. We need five years of experience with orchestration tools, including GitLab or Bitbucket, and CI/CD practices. We require experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions in Agile environments using Python and Databricks. We need experience designing and tuning scalable data pipelines with Python and Spark in Databricks. We require experience building modular, reusable components in Databricks notebooks and workflows. We need experience implementing data validation frameworks to support pipeline accuracy and consistency. Responsibilities: We assist and lead the design, development, and upkeep of scalable, high-performance data solutions that power analytics, AI, and business intelligence. We help define and document technical requirements for data movement between operational systems and the data warehouse. We support the full development of ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Spark on Databricks. We contribute to ingesting data into data lakes and data warehouses, including implementation of Delta Lake for transactional reliability. We help orchestrate both batch and streaming data pipelines. We collaborate with technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources. We build and refine data models and maintain software applications aligned with business needs. We explore and integrate emerging AWS technologies to strengthen our data engineering capabilities. We write advanced SQL for data validation and transformation. We manage Databricks workspaces, clusters, and jobs. We support data quality efforts and help ensure compliance with governance and security requirements. We contribute to the development and operationalization of machine learning and generative AI applications. We troubleshoot production workflows, refactor legacy systems, take part in code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
