The Role Overview We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cloud-based data engineering, modern software development practices, and data governance frameworks. Required Skills and Experience Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms. • Build and optimize data solutions on cloud environments (primarily Azure). • Implement and manage data governance and cataloging solutions. • Work with structured and unstructured data across SQL and NoSQL systems. • Develop infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and DevOps. • Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across systems. • Apply best practices in software engineering, including SOLID principles and design patterns. • Participate in CI/CD processes and DevOps workflows. • Write unit tests and ensure code quality using modern testing frameworks. ⸻ Required Technical Skills • Strong programming skills in object-oriented programming (Python preferred). • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services (storage, networking, IAM, etc.). • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB is a plus). • Knowledge of data governance practices (e.g., Unity Catalog). • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). • Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices. • Strong grasp of software design principles (SOLID, design patterns). • Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD). • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as pytest and mocking tools.
