Software Engineer - iOS REMOTE

Our Engineering team builds tools that help business owners process thousands of orders every day. From developing new products and core workflows to improving the online ordering experience, the team works across the full product lifecycle—from conception through launch and ongoing optimisation. About the Role We’re looking for an experienced iOS Software Engineer to join our Engineering team and help develop, manage, and maintain Hey You’s mobile applications. You’ll work closely with Engineers, Designers, and Business teams to build high-quality iOS applications used by customers and hospitality businesses. You’ll be involved in everything from writing and testing clean, maintainable code to peer reviews, technical documentation, and deploying applications to the Apple App Store. What You’ll Do Develop, test, and maintain iOS applications. Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code following established coding standards. Build and maintain appropriate unit and integration tests. Participate in peer code reviews. Write and maintain technical documentation, workflows, and supporting materials. Collaborate with the Product team to identify creative and practical solutions. Work with other Engineers to understand existing systems, application requirements, technical complexity, and implementation risks. Contribute to technical and architectural decisions. Submit and deploy applications to the Apple App Store. Stay current with mobile development practices, technologies, and design trends. What You’ll Bring 5+ years of commercial experience in native iOS development. Strong proficiency in Swift and Objective-C. Strong experience with SwiftUI. Experience developing and deploying multiple applications to the Apple App Store. Strong understanding of software engineering practices, architecture, and design patterns. Experience with Git workflows. Experience working within Agile teams. A strong eye for design, detail, and user experience. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to create clear technical documentation. Strong self-motivation, organisation, and ability to work independently. A genuine passion for software development and building products that people use every day. Experience working effectively with remote teams. Nice to Have It would be great if you also have: A public GitHub or other public code repository. Contributions to open-source or other software projects. Exposure to other technologies such as: Android / Java / Kotlin React Native React or other web front-end technologies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
