Software Engineer II Why We Have This Role Our team is a collection of extremely passionate engineers who are riding the cutting edge of cloud computing and web scalability. How You’ll Find Success Enjoy solving hard scalability problems with simple, pragmatic designs Deliver high-quality software end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, and production support Write clean, maintainable, and performant code with strong attention to correctness and performance Collaborate clearly with engineers, product managers, and ops; incorporate feedback constructively Apply solid fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design Maintain disciplined testing and code-review practices; champion quality and reliability How You’ll Grow Deepen expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architecture Expand ownership across larger features and services, influencing design and technical direction Grow mentoring and cross-functional leadership skills through pairing, design reviews, and project ownership Things You’ll Do Build scalable, fast, and robust web and backend services that solve complex business problems Implement new product features and optimize existing systems to improve performance, availability, and user experience Collaborate with product, design, and tech-ops to define requirements, iterate on solutions, and deliver value quickly Own quality end-to-end: write unit and integration tests, participate in thorough code reviews, and monitor production health Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive long-term fixes to prevent recurrence What We’re Looking For On Your CV 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies and approaches Strong coding skills and solid understanding of algorithms and data structures Disciplined approach to testing, QA, and production reliability Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems Familiarity with professional engineering practices: unit testing, code reviews, design documents What You Should Know About This Team The Ironwood Digital XM PlatformTM is a system of action that helps businesses to attract customers who stay longer and buy more, to engage and empower employees to do the best work of their lives, to develop breakthrough products people love, and to build a brand people can’t imagine living without.
