Salary: $133000 - 180000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree or equivalent. We require the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance after start. We require at least 5 years of experience in software engineering. We require experience programming in C, C++, or C#. We require experience working in an Agile software development environment. We prefer a bachelor of science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science with 5+ years of related experience, or a bachelors degree with 9+ years of directly related experience, or 13+ years of relevant experience. We prefer experience with object-oriented software architecture and design patterns. We prefer experience with Python, Lua, or OpenGL. We prefer experience developing desktop and mobile or tablet applications. We prefer experience with continuous integration and delivery, version control, and build automation tools. We prefer familiarity with Jira, Jenkins, GitLab, CMake, and Visual Studio. We prefer familiarity with simulation standards such as DIS, DMO, and HLA. We prefer experience with aircraft platforms, aviation, simulation, or training systems. We prefer strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. We require the ability to meet U.S. export control requirements as a U.S. Person. We require the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance, with interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start. We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role. Responsibilities: We lead the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, visualizations, virtual environments, platforms, and frameworks. We partner with stakeholders to review and define simulation requirements and the dynamics of the systems being modeled. We lead validation, verification, and refinement of simulation code, models, test procedures, and test environments, including executing tests and documenting results. We document and maintain technical code, algorithms, specifications, and descriptions for simulation models. We collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate simulation software with hardware devices and systems. We implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the simulation software engineering environment. We lead simulation software project management activities. We drive continuous improvement through process, tool, and automation enhancements. We plan and execute work within a scrum team using scaled agile practices. We serve as the primary technical point of contact on contracts and projects. We engage with senior external stakeholders on significant technical topics that require inter-organizational coordination. We support proposal development and lead engineering execution by identifying the activities, resources, and tasks needed to complete the work statement. We mentor junior engineers and encourage innovation across the team. Our work focuses on building next-generation flight simulators that help train military pilots, including instructor/operator stations, brief/debrief stations, synthetic environments, and core technologies used across our training systems. Our team develops and maintains training devices for a broad range of commercial and military aircraft, from F-15 fighter jets and Apache helicopters to NASAs Starliner spacecraft.
