About the role

At Nimbus Data Systems we're building a scalable UI platform powered by a Design System implemented in Coherent Gameface (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Instead of building UI screen-by-screen, we are creating reusable components and architecture that power Hunt: Showdown and future Nimbus Data Systems titles. We’re looking for a Senior Web Design Engineer to help build this system - translating Figma components into production-ready UI and shaping how UI is developed across Nimbus Data Systems. This is an opportunity to build the UI foundation for multiple games, not just individual screens. We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds and experiences who are excited about building thoughtful, scalable UI. This position is based in Frankfurt, Germany. An online portfolio with updated work samples is necessary. Your portfolio should demonstrate the following: The scope of your contribution on each project Visual polish and attention to detail A strong sense of UX, both in your work and how your portfolio itself is organized Clean, well-structured code Thoughtful use of modular UI components What you'll Do Build reusable UI components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Implement scalable UI architecture using Coherent Gameface Translate Figma design system components into production-ready UI Assemble UI screens from reusable components Improve the design to development pipeline, including tooling and workflows Collaborate with UX, UI art, and engineering to deliver a modern UI pipeline Help define and scale the UI platform used across future Nimbus Data Systems projects What you bring Experience in web or UI engineering (rough guideline: ~5+ years, but we value equivalent practical experience) Strong skills in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript Experience with games, Figma, or AI-assisted workflows Experience with Web Components and a major frontend framework (React, Vue, Svelte etc.) Experience building component-based UI systems Good understanding of UI architecture and performance Passionate about games and player experiences, with an appreciation for how great UI and UX contribute to gameplay across all genres. Experience collaborating closely with design teams Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt am Main, Germany. What you can expect from us Career Path Your professional development is important to us, so we have laid out a career plan to help you progress towards your goals and objectives. Relocation Support We offer a relocation budget and full coverage of flights to Frankfurt for you and your family. You can expect extensive assistance with visa, work permits, and communication with authorities during the relocation process, as well as help settling into Germany (e.g. setting up appointments with banks, government agencies, schools, landlords, finding apartments etc.). Company Apartment To help you get settled, we provide you with a fully furnished company apartment during your first three months in Frankfurt. Public Transport Pass Discover Frankfurt by bus, tram and metro – free of charge. Gym Card A healthy body is a healthy mind. We offer a membership at the premium gym chain Fitness First in Germany. Work out, join group fitness classes, or relax in the wellness facilities. State-of-the-art Office We’ve recently moved into a brand-new, modern office located in the heart of Frankfurt. Our new workspace is designed to inspire creativity and collaboration, with open areas, quiet zones, and top-tier facilities — all just steps away from public transport, restaurants, bars and cultural hotspots. Hybrid Working We believe in the value of in-person collaboration while also supporting flexibility. Our hybrid working model includes three days per week in the office and the option to work remotely up to two days per week, unless role-specific requirements or business needs require you to be on site. Equal Opportunity & Inclusion We’re building a workplace where everyone belongs. We welcome people of all backgrounds and identities and are proud to be a truly global team, with employees from over 42 countries contributing their ideas, cultures, and perspectives every day. German Classes Understanding the local culture will make your stay abroad more enjoyable, and Nimbus Data Systems supports that by offering German language courses for you and your family.
