Senior UX Designer

Salary: $121,000 - 161,000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree, certificate, or equivalent training in user experience design or a related field At least five years of experience in UX design or a related field, including providing design feedback or informal mentorship A portfolio showcasing strong UX skills and judgment, including end-to-end ownership of complex or ambiguous problems Proficiency with UX design and research tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, UserZoom, or Maze, and the ability to evaluate and recommend tools as the practice evolves Deep knowledge of UX methods, including prototyping, wireframing, high-fidelity mockups, information architecture, process flows, and user flows, with the judgment to choose an appropriate approach Ability to independently plan and drive customer research and direct research efforts to inform design decisions Experience leading interactive design processes across cross-functional teams and synthesizing and acting on stakeholder feedback Confidence owning and evolving reusable UX components or design system libraries, including deciding when to extend or create patterns Understanding of current mobile, web, and desktop technologies Experience owning end-to-end UX strategy for a product area with minimal oversight Ability to create scalable, coherent experiences across products and maintain systems-level consistency Ability to build stakeholder consensus and bring clarity to ambiguous or contested design decisions Strong communication and presentation skills, including framing design decisions in business and user terms for executive and non-design audiences Collaborative, self-starting approach, strong partnership skills, and ability to conceptualize rapidly and creatively Ability to simplify complex information and develop creative solutions to problems spanning teams or systems Willingness to revisit ideas that are not working and guide others through that process Fluency in engaging with quantitative and qualitative data at scale, interpreting findings independently, and translating them into design direction Responsibilities: Own experience strategy and design end-to-end flows across a product area Apply accessibility and usability standards and champion inclusive design Partner with product managers and engineers to shape product direction and prioritize design work Lead usability testing and incorporate findings into strategic design iterations Mentor designers across pods and contribute to design standards and team rituals Address unfamiliar problems using appropriate UX processes and tools while following established standards and guidelines Communicate and collaborate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and team members to achieve project goals Champion design and engineering best practices to deliver modern, performant experiences Build proficiency in the assigned products features, especially common workflows for each customer persona Work autonomously and strategically to identify opportunities within the assigned product Maintain and develop visual and UX patterns in the design system and product to support consistent, intuitive experiences Provide design feedback and mentorship to other designers Coordinate usability studies across projects and product features Technologies: Figma Support Mobile Sketch Web UX UI Design More: We at Verisk are partnering with hackajob to connect with professionals for this Senior UX Designer II role.
