Senior Solution Architect (AI, AWS)

Salary: $85,500 - 185,000 per year Requirements: At least 5 years of solution architecture experience in a large, enterprise-level environment At least 5 years of software development experience, such as with Angular, Java, or Node.js Strong knowledge of service-oriented architecture, databases, and data modeling Experience designing and implementing real-time and batch interfaces Strong understanding of the TOGAF framework Experience designing end-to-end enterprise solutions spanning frontend applications, enterprise services, product systems, and third parties Knowledge or experience with AI and AWS or Azure cloud platforms Knowledge of security controls for internet-facing applications and broader security concepts Broad familiarity with communication protocols Strong experience designing and implementing microservices, SOAP/XML, and RESTful/JSON schemas Experience designing and scaling applications, with knowledge of design and architectural patterns Understanding of strategic technical direction across middleware, continuous integration and deployment, testing, systems management, enterprise data and access layers, and computing styles Expert problem-solving skills across varying levels of complexity Expert knowledge of complex system design, including requirements discovery and analysis, solution context, assessment of alternatives, technology selection, and design configuration Expert verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving, influence, cross-group collaboration, and data-driven decision-making skills Ability to manage ambiguity Responsibilities: Design and deliver architecture solutions for Personal and Business Banking initiatives across web, mobile, contact centre, and branch channels, supporting consistent customer experiences Apply AI and cloud-native architectures to enable personalization, automation, and scalability across banking platforms Embed secure-by-design principles into solutions and assess and mitigate fraud, cybersecurity, and other security risks in line with enterprise risk and compliance frameworks Work with business and technology stakeholders to incorporate fraud prevention, identity protection, and data security throughout the solution lifecycle Create and maintain architecture assets for the assigned portfolio and business scope Provide technical design recommendations, aligned with standards, for new products, services, applications, and technology integrations Identify solution and design risks that could affect project benefits, and guide stakeholders in decisions to prevent or mitigate risks and delays Participate in system specification reviews to ensure requirements can be translated into valid software architecture Research relevant technologies, develop proofs of concept or prototypes, and recommend technologies for future product architecture Develop innovative solutions suited to organizational needs and contribute architectural insight to business cases, including feasibility, risks, and strategic alignment Keep current with industry technology and business trends through professional associations, practice communities, and individual learning Oversee complex projects and cross-domain initiatives spanning multiple teams, and integrate systems in support of business strategy and enterprise goals Architect scalable, sustainable, and compliant solutions, serving as a specialist resource for senior leaders and stakeholders at group and enterprise levels Apply expertise and creative problem-solving to complex, non-routine, unique, or ambiguous situations, and implement changes in response to evolving trends Take measured risks while protecting the bank; apply our Risk Management Framework and Risk Culture within approved Risk Appetite, make informed decisions aligned with business strategy, protect assets, and follow applicable policies, standards, procedures, laws, and regulations Take on additional work or accountabilities as needed Technologies: AI AWS Angular Architect Azure Cloud Frontend Support JSON Java Mobile SOAP Security TOGAF Web XML microservices NodeJS Network More: We are hiring for a Technology role at BMO Financial Group, based at 33 Dundas Street West, with an application deadline of October 18, 2026.
