About the role Solstice Analytics is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own the messaging, caching, job processing, and workflow platforms that keep services talking to each other. The Messaging Platforms team sits between infrastructure and product. We build the frameworks, libraries, and operational patterns that let product engineers move quickly without having to carry the full complexity of messaging. When we do our jobs well, teams feel confident: messaging is reliable, scalable, observable, and easy to build on. You'll work on: Messaging and job processing — local and distributed async processing, service-to-service communication, and reliability work Caching — Redis governance, usage patterns, and operational tooling Workflow orchestration — running and improving the platforms teams use for scheduled jobs and long-running workflows (Temporal, Cronitor) Shared Rails tooling — logging, tracing, security, PII masking, schema enforcement, and other shared concerns AI-enabled engineering — finding practical ways to help Solstice Analytics engineers use AI more effectively: automation, agent-ready tooling, platform capabilities that make AI-assisted development safer There's a lot to do. We want someone who can figure out which problems are worth solving, ship something, measure whether it worked, and adjust. Not someone who ships and disappears. The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $187,000.00 and up to $259,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. In this role, you can expect to Automate upgrades, monitoring, and operations across the platform. Build tools that let engineers across Solstice Analytics self-serve — so they spend less time waiting on us. Build and maintain reliable, scalable platforms and libraries. Partner with product, data, and infrastructure teams on cross-cutting technical problems. Reduce operational overhead through close collaboration with infra. Advise engineering teams on communication and data-sharing patterns. To thrive in this role, you have Solid understanding of async and synchronous data-sharing patterns — pub/sub, RPC, caching, and when to use each. Strong Ruby/Rails experience; Python or Go is a bonus. Familiarity with AWS (ElastiCache, SNS/SQS) and infrastructure tooling like Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and Docker. Experience with large-scale production systems and the tradeoffs that come with them. Comfort working in CI/CD environments. A track record of shipping production systems as part of a team. You care about the engineers who use what you build — and you'll push back when a pattern is going to cause them pain later. #LI-AC2 #LI-Onsite A little about us At Solstice Analytics, we believe that everyone can achieve financial progress.
