Senior Software Engineer - Multimedia Toolkit Lead

Salary: $110,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements: In-depth, recent experience in multimedia processing, analysis, and data management, including building a petabyte-scale multimedia analysis platform. Experience developing and maintaining applications that manage petabyte-scale data and high-throughput processing. U.S. citizenship, an active Top Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain SCI eligibility. Proficiency in Java and front-end technologies including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Vue. Familiarity with Agile development and experience with CI/CD practices. Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams by setting goals, assigning work, and guiding projects to completion. Strong problem-solving skills and experience troubleshooting complex software issues. Experience with UI/UX design focused on accessible, efficient tools. Eight or more years of software engineering experience. Bachelors degree in IT or a related field. Technical architecture or software engineering certifications are preferred. Responsibilities: Engineer and develop a multimedia review tool using Agile methods, incorporating bug fixes, security enhancements, and new capabilities. Serve as the subject matter expert for the tools codebase and lead developers in delivering features and resolving software issues. Plan and deliver incremental software builds based on agreed requirements. Improve the tools visual display, correlation, and reporting of multimedia data using metadata and analytic results. Connect ingestion workflows with other systems so data and processing results can be transferred across geographically separated environments with limited bandwidth. Integrate analytics that help users review images quickly and intuitively. Deploy the tool across designated development and operational environments, and maintain deployments across different infrastructures in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Estimate effort and timelines during planning sessions. TekSynap is a growing technology company serving Federal Government customers. The position is onsite in Clarksburg, West Virginia, with a Monday–Friday day schedule and less than 10% travel. The work involves an office environment and may include physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting. The target salary range is $110,000–$145,000, with final compensation depending on qualifications and contract and organizational factors.
