We’re seeking a Staff Software Engineer to work within our team focused on building impactful capabilities that empower restaurants to drive Guest engagement, retention and growth. The team will help shape the future of how restaurants use technology to connect with their guests - increasingly through AI-powered tools and experiences that drive automation, personalization and smarter decision-making. You will be a key part of a high-impact, high-ownership engineering team solving complex challenges in a fast-moving product space. Your engineering leadership will be balancing technical excellence alongside a strong product mindset to solve for continuous growth within both the team and our product space. About this roll * (Responsibilities) Design, build, deploy, and maintain highly resilient and scalable features Lead complex projects that improve functionality and reliability for our customers and partners Partner with a wide array of teams across Halcyon Labs Ensure quality by building automated testing for changes Roll* features out to customers and partners, including monitoring for success Collaborate with UX and PM on the definition and design of features Mentor and coach other engineers Do you have the right ingredients* ? (Requirements) 8-12 years experience building backend services and APIs Extensive experience working with an Object Oriented Language like Java or Kotlin, with a deep understanding of testing, quality, and best practices Experience shipping production services and balancing getting things done with platform stability and reliability Experience building backend services and APIs and scaling distributed systems Focused on delivering positive impact for Halcyon Labs customers Enjoys working in a team environment with a shared code-base Excellent cross-team communication skills on complex technical topics Experience building cloud-native systems on AWS.
