Senior Software Engineer

Salary: $189000 - 237000 per year Requirements: We require 8+ years of software development experience, ideally backed by a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable hands-on expertise. We need strong experience with Python, FastAPI, React, SQL, APIs, and full stack development. We look for a background in building scalable, maintainable enterprise applications. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud or enterprise development environments, and tools such as GitHub is important. Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, system design, troubleshooting, and code quality, are expected. We value excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data platform is a plus. Kubernetes, Node.js, dashboard development, or data visualization experience is beneficial. Exposure to financial services, investments, private markets, AI-enabled applications, or modern data platforms is an advantage. Responsibilities: We design, build, and maintain full stack applications using Python, FastAPI, React, SQL, and Snowflake. We develop and support a CIO-facing dashboard that delivers investment insights and decision support. We create APIs, backend services, and optimized SQL queries. We write clean, testable code and contribute to technical design conversations. We support CI/CD pipelines, participate in code reviews, and assist with Kubernetes-based deployments. We collaborate with product, business, data, architecture, and engineering partners in an agile environment. This is a 6-month contract position, with a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week in our Toronto, Ontario office. The work is hands-on and backend focused, supporting internal investment applications and a CIO-facing dashboard. We use internal Kubernetes deployment pipelines, and onboarding and training will be provided.
