Senior Quality Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join a long-term project for a leading UK company in the Media & Advertising sector. You'll play a key role in ensuring software quality through automated testing, working closely with development teams in a modern Agile environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA professional with strong Java-based test automation skills who is interested in expanding into UI automation using Playwright and contributing to a quality-first engineering culture. 📍 Remote | UK-based Client (Media & Advertising) 🚀 Start: ASAP 📅 Project until the end of 2026 with possible extension Tech Stack: Java, JavaScript, Playwright, BDD, Test Automation Frameworks, Test Execution & Logging Tools, CI/CD, Agile Your Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for backend services • Create and execute automated test scenarios using Java-based frameworks • Collaborate closely with developers, Technical Leads, and Product teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle • Support and promote a Shift Left testing approach • Analyze test results, identify defects, and proactively drive quality improvements • Contribute to UI test automation initiatives using Playwright (TypeScript) • Participate in test planning, execution, reporting, and continuous improvement activities Requirements Must Have: • Strong commercial experience in test automation • Hands-on experience with Java for automated testing • Experience working with BDD methodologies and frameworks • Knowledge of testing techniques and software quality assurance best practices • Experience with test execution, reporting, and logging tools • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Experience working in Agile environments • English at a minimum B2 level (full professional proficiency) Nice to Have: • Experience with Playwright and TypeScript • Knowledge of JavaScript • Experience testing distributed systems, APIs, or microservices • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines • Experience working in cloud-based environments What We Offer • Competitive B2B rate • Flexible payment options tailored to your preferences • Short 14-day invoice payment term • Comprehensive private healthcare package • Access to the MyBenefit cafeteria platform, including Multisport cards and prepaid gift cards for brands such as Ikea, Zalando, Notino, and many more
