Senior Python / AWS Developer - W2 Only

Senior Python / AWS Developer Introduction: We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to design, build, and scale cloud-native applications, microservices, and system integrations. The candidate will collaborate closely with engineering teams on API architecture, cloud infrastructure, and automated workflows. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs using Python FastAPI. Deploy, manage, and optimize scalable application environments on AWS Cloud. Hands-on implementation of AWS services including ECS Fargate, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and RDS. Build containerized applications using Docker and support continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Work on backend system integrations and financial services architecture patterns. Leverage modern developer tooling and AI-assisted engineering workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Windsurf). Requirements: Location & Relocation: Local candidates to McLean, VA or Richmond, VA are preferred. Non-local candidates must explicitly confirm their willingness to relocate prior to submission. Core Development: 5+ years of software development experience focusing on Python. Framework Expertise: Production experience with FastAPI (or strong experience in Flask/Django transitioning to FastAPI). AWS Expertise: Proven experience building and deploying cloud microservices on AWS (ECS Fargate, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS). Containerization: Proficiency with Docker.
