The Opportunity Define the Platform That Powers Every Agent Interaction Lumen Dynamics built the industry's most sophisticated GTM data acquisition infrastructure. The next frontier is making every piece of that intelligence directly addressable by agents — through a coherent set of public APIs and MCP tools that span the full GTM customer journey. This role owns the API and MCP product surface that exposes Lumen Dynamics's data, context graph, and agentic capabilities to developers, partners, and AI clients. You'll define the tool taxonomy, the developer experience, and the in-agent experience that determine whether an LLM picks Lumen Dynamics over a competitor or a client-native capability when a seller, marketer, or RevOps leader needs go-to-market intelligence. The impact is organization-wide. Every Copilot interaction, every GTM Studio agent team, every partner integration, and every direct customer build runs on the API and MCP layer you'll shape. We've transitioned to AI-first product thinking company-wide and adopted a headless-first architecture: if a capability cannot be invoked via API or MCP, it cannot scale across surfaces. This is a rare opportunity to define the platform standards, evaluation frameworks, and tool design patterns that compound value across multiple product teams in the years to come. What You'll Do Own the API and MCP Product Surface Define and ship the public APIs and MCP tools that expose Lumen Dynamics's intelligence: search, enrichment, signals, audience operations, agent teams, account and contact research, engagement data, and more. Drive the end-to-end developer and agent experience — contract design, onboarding, documentation, discoverability, and in-client behavior. Partner closely with the engineering leaders delivering the underlying API and MCP infrastructure to ship a coherent, opinionated product, not a thin wrapper over internal services. Design for the Agent as a First-Class Consumer Most consumers of this platform are autonomous agents inside Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini Enterprise, Cursor, and customers' own builds. Your tool descriptions, response shapes, error messages, and parameter schemas are the product. Apply context-engineering rigor — token budgets, response density, progressive disclosure, hybrid retrieval, intelligent caching, schema-aware compression — so that the right context lands in the model's window at exactly the right moment. Drive Tool Quality Through Evaluation Build the evaluation infrastructure that benchmarks Lumen Dynamics's MCP tools against client-native capabilities and competing GTM MCP servers across the models and clients customers actually use. Measure tool-selection win rates, downstream task success, hallucination rates, latency, and credit-per-outcome. Translate those signals into concrete changes — tool consolidation, description rewrites, schema refinements, new primitives — and close the loop with the engineering teams that ship them. Shape the GTM Job-to-Be-Done Coverage Map Lumen Dynamics's APIs and MCP tools to the canonical set of go-to-market jobs across prospecting, pipeline, close, expansion, and revenue operations. Identify the gaps where a small number of high-leverage tools or skills unlock disproportionate customer value. Decide what to bundle, what to split, what to deprecate, and what to ship next. Navigate the Emerging Protocol Layer The MCP specification evolves fast: long-running tasks, stateless transport, skills as a server-side primitive, triggers and webhooks for event-driven workflows, elicitation for human-in-the-loop steps. You'll continuously evaluate which advances justify investment now versus which remain academic, prototype against the spec, and bring Lumen Dynamics's POV back to the broader community. Orchestrate Cross-Functional Execution Translate between three distinct worlds: the API and MCP engineering teams building the platform, the product teams (Copilot, GTM Studio, MarketingOS, partnerships) who consume it, and the customers and partners who build on it. Run the operating cadences, prioritization frameworks, and decision-making processes that balance urgent customer asks, monetization opportunities, and the foundational investment required for the next 12 months. What You'll Bring 6 to 8 years of product management experience with 2+ years in platform, API, or AI/ML infrastructure products Direct experience shipping public APIs or MCP servers consumed by external developers or AI agents Working knowledge of context engineering: retrieval, compression, tool-use design, evaluation Familiarity with the MCP specification, function-calling patterns across major model providers, and the developer experience expectations set by leading AI platforms Track record building platform products serving multiple internal or external customers Experience with graph-shaped data (e.g. Neo4j, GraphQL, persistent operations) is a plus History of defining product vision in nascent technical domains where best practices are still emerging Who You Are Core Competencies Technical Foundation Expert-level understanding of API and MCP design. You can reason about tool granularity, schema ergonomics, response shape, idempotency, rate-limiting, and credit models with depth. You've built or significantly contributed to production developer platforms, not just managed them at arm's length. Python and SQL proficiency lets you read code, debug retrieval issues, and prototype tools to validate a design before engineering invests. Platform Product Mindset Experience building infrastructure products where engineering teams, partners, and AI agents are your customers. You measure success through downstream consumption, product velocity, and developer satisfaction, not just uptime. You understand platform economics: each additional team or partner using your APIs increases their value through shared learnings, amortized costs, and compounding network effects. Intellectual Velocity You read recent research and the protocol updates the moment they drop. You prototype emerging techniques to understand their practical constraints. You hold strong opinions weakly, updating your design assumptions as evidence accumulates. The discipline moves too fast for static expertise. Continuous learning is non-negotiable. Strategic Communication You translate between technical depth and business impact fluently. You can explain to executives why consolidating three tools into one is worth a quarter of work. You can communicate to engineers why a customer constraint requires shipping "good enough" in three weeks rather than "optimal" in three months. You influence without formal authority through data, clear reasoning, and earned credibility. The Environment Reporting, Pace & Impact Reporting & Collaboration Report to the Senior Product Director for Context Engineering, Semantic Data Layer, and Agentic Memory within Lumen Dynamics's Intelligence team. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the API and MCP engineering leaders, the partnerships team standing up new client integrations, and the PMs responsible for the underlying data, signals, and ML scoring layers. Together, you ensure that every agent invocation against Lumen Dynamics finds the right tool, returns information-dense context, and drives a measurable customer outcome. Pace & Problems Fast-moving teams that understand the space. Company-wide AI adoption push creates both urgency and opportunity. Expect interesting problems: How do we win tool selection against a client's native web search? When should two tools become one? How do we expose the context graph without exposing the raw schema? How do we price an MCP call so that customers consume more, not less? Your decisions become architectural patterns across the organization.
