Senior Manager, AI Engineering

Salary: $283000 - 352000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, plus at least 6 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a masters degree in one of those fields plus at least 4 years of equivalent experience We require at least 1 year of people leadership experience We prefer 3 years of experience leading and managing an engineering team We prefer 6 years of experience delivering scalable, responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud environments We prefer experience building AI and ML capabilities such as LLM inference, similarity search, vector databases, guardrails, and memory using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang We prefer strong awareness of the latest AI research and systems, with the judgment to apply novel techniques in production We prefer excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex AI concepts to peers Responsibilities: We partner with cross-functional engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products that improve how our associates work and how our customers engage with Ironwood Digital We oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability We make informed build-versus-buy decisions across a broad range of open-source and SaaS AI technologies, including AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, vector databases, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch, and similar tools We invent and apply advanced LLM optimization methods to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput in large-scale production AI systems We help shape the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems at Ironwood Digital We attract and retain top AI talent while supporting the personal and professional growth of our team We foster a culture of continuous learning and staying current with the latest advances in AI Technologies: AI AWS Azure C# Cloud Golang Support Java LLM PyTorch Python Hardware Machine Learning More: We are Ironwood Digital, building responsible and reliable AI systems to help change banking for good.
