Senior Mainframe Engineer

Salary: $78000 - 122000 per year Requirements: We are looking for a bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. We need 7+ years of mainframe development experience, including design, analysis, and coding. We require strong hands-on experience with COBOL, IMS, JCL, CA7, DB2, and/or BigQuery. We expect experience with COBOL stored procedures and both real-time and batch processing. We are seeking 2+ years of experience implementing z/OS Connect, SFTP, SOAP APIs, REST APIs, and other system-to-system integration approaches. We need experience using source code management tools such as Endeavor and GitHub. We require the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production incidents and business support issues. We expect experience in application support, maintenance, and operational activities. We need strong problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. We require the ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across global teams. We need someone who can manage multiple priorities and respond to business-critical needs. We expect experience with unit and integration testing. We require the ability to work independently and take initiative when resolving unexpected issues. We are looking for 6+ years of IT experience and 4+ years of software development experience. We need practical experience in two programming languages or advanced expertise in one programming language. Responsibilities: We will rely on you as a key contributor supporting enterprise applications and related products. You will provide on-call and production support. You will develop and deliver features that meet business and compliance needs. You will manage assigned deliverables and keep the product backlog up to date. You will review, investigate, and help resolve defects. You will assist in prioritizing backlog items, including defects and enhancements. You will ensure our solutions create value for both customers and the business. You will contribute to application modernization efforts and partner with internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders. You will design, develop, and maintain Mainframe COBOL and JCL solutions to support operational and project work. You will carry out application support activities, including system support, security and audit reviews, and maintenance tasks. You will perform unit and integration testing.
