As a Senior Health Care Integrations Engineer at Prompt Therapy, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our interoperability with our healthcare partners in sharing information securely and efficiently. You will work closely with our infrastructure and product engineering teams to deploy new solutions and automate existing processes. The Role: We are seeking a Senior EDI/API Software Engineer who is experienced in developing robust software solutions for large-scale data interchange within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamental skills for building APIs and experience with various healthcare data standards, including Health Level 7 (HL7) and Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). Familiarity with ANSI EDI files and transactions such as 837, 277, 999, and 835 will also be beneficial, as this role supports our active EDI program. Key Responsibilities: Architect and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant software solutions for transmitting millions of messages monthly in diverse formats and protocols. Design and evolve system architectures to accommodate complex, clearinghouse-specific EDI/API data mappings. Implement advanced error handling, logging, and retry mechanisms within asynchronous workflows to ensure data integrity and reliability. Collaborate directly with external clearinghouse partners to debug and troubleshoot non-standard integration systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant EDI protocols and federal healthcare standards, including designing and auditing systems for HIPAA security and privacy regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and frameworks, and document all features, flows, and processes within the application. Adapt and transition between programming languages and technologies as required. Minimum Requirements: 5+ years of proven experience in developing robust software solutions, preferably within the healthcare sector. Strong fundamental skills in building and integrating APIs. Demonstrated skills and experience in scaling API systems in a cost-effective manner Proficiency in PHP or Python (or a comparable programming language), with a willingness to learn new languages as needed. Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new programming languages and manage transitions effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strongly preferred: Familiarity with 837, 277, 999, and 835 EDI transactions Knowledge of, or experience with, healthcare data interchange standards like HL7 and FHIR.
