Senior Hardware Engineer

Salary: $102,000 - 118,000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in Hardware Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 7+ years of experience in hardware design or development Experience developing products with ARM-based processors Strong understanding of electronic design for EMC/EMI compliance Solid knowledge of hardware architecture and components, including MPUs, UART, CAN, LIN, A/D and D/A converters, RAM/Flash memory, and other digital electronics Experience designing processors, power supplies, and communication, analog, and digital circuits Strong proficiency in C, C++, and C# Ability to troubleshoot and debug electronic circuits Ability to solder surface-mount components onto a PC board Knowledge of OBD (On Board Diagnostics) Experience with batteries and battery maintenance circuits Familiarity with the SAE J2534 specification Some experience with USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity Knowledge of automotive diagnostic protocols Familiarity with Jira and Confluence Responsibilities: Develop new embedded automotive diagnostic pass-thru products, including PC boards and firmware Build diagnostic systems covering PC hardware, vehicle communication hardware, and battery management hardware Create new products, devices, and features, and improve the quality of existing hardware, firmware, and software Strengthen code quality through unit testing, automation, and code reviews Design and develop product and protocol validation tests Build product tools using C, C++, and C# Test new designs and resolve technical issues Create test systems for new products Implement new vehicle protocols and develop test suites to verify their operation Work directly with customers to gather feedback on product performance Perform other assigned duties Technologies: ARM Bluetooth C# Embedded Firmware Hardware JIRA Confluence More: We are Opus IVS, and our mission is to advance the automotive industry by helping customers solve complex vehicle repairs.
