Senior Full Stack Engineer, GenAI

Salary: $162,500 - 260,400 per year Requirements: We require 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree, or 5+ years with an advanced degree, or 2+ years with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant work experience. We require at least 8 years of experience designing, building, and running complex distributed software systems in production. We look for a strong foundation in software architecture, distributed systems, API design, cloud-native platforms, and data-intensive applications. We require experience with cloud platforms, containerized environments, CI/CD systems, and observability tooling. We expect hands-on experience with React and backend development using Python, Node.js, Java, or similar languages. We need strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical ideas to business stakeholders. Preferred: Experience building AI-enabled, data-driven, workflow automation, search, conversational, or machine learning applications. Preferred: Direct experience with generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures, or agentic systems. Preferred: Deep understanding of system design tradeoffs across scalability, security, reliability, performance, cost, and developer productivity. Preferred: Familiarity with modern LLM ecosystems, agent frameworks, retrieval architectures, and enterprise AI deployment patterns. Preferred: Proven ability to lead cross-functional AI initiatives, including proof-of-concepts, stakeholder alignment, and enterprise rollout. Responsibilities: We design, build, and scale enterprise-grade GenAI and agentic applications with maintainable, secure, scalable, reliable, production-ready architecture. We own architecture and delivery for major GenAI subsystems, lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and define reusable patterns and production standards. We apply strong system design judgment to create full-stack production applications with robust APIs, workflow orchestration, secure data flows, observability, and operational readiness. We build modern frontend experiences in React using component-based design, state management, reusable UI patterns, accessibility, performance tuning, and backend integration. We develop scalable backend services in Python, Node.js, and/or Java, including secure APIs, asynchronous processing, background jobs, authentication, authorization, logging, error handling, and resiliency. We work with PostgreSQL, Redis, vector databases, and related technologies, including schema design, indexing, query tuning, caching, migrations, and data access patterns. We implement AI-enabled workflow automation capabilities such as intent routing, agent orchestration, tool execution, API integrations, data retrieval, multi-step execution, human approval flows, guardrails, auditability, and enterprise system integration. We develop AI-native capabilities using OpenAI, Anthropic, and related APIs/SDKs, including prompt orchestration, tool calling, structured outputs, streaming, model routing, and evaluation patterns. We design and implement retrieval-augmented generation solutions, including ingestion pipelines, ETL workflows, embeddings, vector database integration, retrieval strategies, relevance ranking, grounding, and evaluation. We build and deploy cloud-native applications using containers, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and operational automation. We collaborate with engineering teammates and cross-functional partners to turn ambiguous requirements into proof-of-concepts and then into production-quality solutions. We implement observability and operational excellence for GenAI applications, including end-to-end tracing, workflow telemetry, model evaluation, and monitoring.
