Senior Firmware Developer

Salary: 39.000 - 76.000 € per year Requirements: We require more than 5 years of embedded firmware experience. We require strong C++ experience for microcontrollers in resource-constrained environments and practical RTOS experience; Zephyr is an advantage. We require hands-on RFID / NFC experience, ideally with ISO 14443 and Mifare DESFire EVx. We require experience with smartphone credential flows, including mobile wallets, HCE, and provisioning. We require familiarity with applied cryptography in embedded systems, including secure messaging, AES/HMAC, key usage, secure elements / SAM integration, secure boot, and OTA. We require debugging skills with JTAG/SWD and logic analyser tools, as well as embedded CI/CD experience. Nice to have: deep Mifare DESFire EVx personalization experience, low-power design, mobile platform SDKs/APIs, knowledge of access control standards, security compliance such as CRA, NIST, and ETSI, and familiarity with Git, Jira, and embedded test frameworks. Responsibilities: We design and implement C++ application firmware on microcontrollers running an RTOS. We focus on application-level features and the integration of physical and smartphone-based credential processing flows. We implement C++ application-layer firmware on an RTOS, including tasking, IPC, and power-aware scheduling. We develop application logic for existing and future standards, including app/file models, access conditions, personalization, and lifecycle management. We integrate NFC, BLE, and WLAN stacks and mobile credential workflows such as provisioning, HCE, and revocation. We interface with secure elements / SAMs for key storage and transaction offload. We implement secure boot, signed and encrypted OTA, and application-level runtime protections. We enhance and maintain internal software suites in C++ and C#. We build tests and CI/CD artifacts and use protocol sniffers and hardware debuggers for validation. We work closely with mobile, backend, hardware, and QA teams and produce technical and security documentation.
