Senior Software Engineer - Network Management Platform The Network Management Platform team at Northwind Robotics is responsible for the suite of services and infrastructure that store and deploy all of Northwind Robotics’s network configuration, this is a mission critical team that shepherd’s our fleet’s view of the world. We’re looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to the team. In this role you’ll be a key player in our interactions with the infrastructure and operations teams that depend on us. You’ll work closely with our partners to set the team direction and deliver the next generation of features and functionality that enable Northwind Robotics to operate an ever expanding global fleet. What You'll Do: Work with our peers across the company to architect and deliver the next generation of features which manage and deploy network configuration Design and deliver features to support infrastructure provisioning as Northwind Robotics’s fleet grows in size and complexity Develop and improve software development processes including testing, CI/CD, etc Write code that is performant, maintainable, clear, and concise and contribute to code reviews, improving the codebase and other team processes Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration within the team What We're Looking For: Significant related professional experience developing software. Most Senior Engineers at Northwind Robotics have more than 5 years of related experience. 3 years of experience in building and managing containerized applications and container orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes 3 years of experience with automating public cloud workloads (GCP, AWS), and using IaC solutions such as Terraform Experience in software development and DevOps best practices Track record of writing resilient and maintainable Python or another modern language We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: A practical understanding of, and experience with, networking concepts at scale Experience provisioning and configuring network infrastructure A background in infrastructure provisioning and deployment concepts, ie ZTP Experience with configuration management software such as ansible and chef Experience with compiled languages, preferably Go Knowledge of scalable and distributed key-value stores and sql databases Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours. It may also require occasional nights and weekends as necessary to support any on-call coverage. Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements: The preferred locations for this position are: San Francisco, CA New York, NY Denver, CO Northwind Robotics currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. There is a strong preference for Hybrid near a local office. However, we may be willing to consider exceptionally qualified remote candidates within the US and Canada. Salary: The estimated salary range for this position in the US is $181,220 to $217,464. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
