Senior Engineer, AI Compute

Salary: $298000 - 408000 per year Requirements: Bachelors Degree Minimum of 7 years of expertise in application architecture and design patterns. At least 5 years of experience with distributed databases, microservice architectures, and highly available systems. Preferred: Degree in Computer Science or a Masters in Software Engineering. Hands-on experience with internals of Ray or Spark. Experience in creating platforms for LLM training, fine-tuning, or high-throughput inference. Familiarity with AWS-specific compute elements and cost-optimization strategies. Responsibilities: Design and implement control and data plane systems to create a highly available, multi-tenant, large-scale, and secure machine learning platform. Develop distributed compute engine solutions using Ray and Spark to enhance various workloads while optimizing compute economics. Drive operational excellence through the automation of Keep The Lights On workflows. Oversee the execution of diverse projects, working alongside developers in distributed microservices and large foundation models. Collaborate cross-functionally with product and program management and stakeholders to refine business objectives and technology solutions. Stay updated on tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and lead system design and code review discussions. Contribute to the Aperture Cloud Distinguished Engineering community and serve as a resource on technology-related queries. Mentor internal talent and actively recruit external talent to strengthen our technical capabilities.
