As a Senior Developer Relations Engineer – Platform Enablement, you will be working for our client, a leading international banking institution, dedicated to transforming digital banking experiences. You will play a key role in building and enhancing HSBC’s new application development platform, driving practical developer assets that facilitate seamless migration and adoption. Your main responsibilities:
– Build and maintain reusable templates and patterns to streamline onboarding and minimize variation across teams.
– Deliver real-world examples from HSBC projects that teams can adopt directly, serving as effective onboarding and adoption media.
– Enhance self-service onboarding processes to support scalable adoption across HSBC from day one.
– Support feedback loops through office hours, champions networks, and digital channels, translating developer pain points into tangible shipped improvements.
– Write and continually improve platform documentation, ensuring it remains part of the launch process and definition of done.
– Collaborate closely with product, architecture, engineering, and risk/control teams to ensure guidance is accurate, compliant, and practical.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
– At least 5 years of hands-on engineering experience, with a proven track record of building templates, automation, reference implementations, onboarding assets, or developer tooling.
– Strong understanding of enhancing developer experience through standardization and automation.
– Confidence in writing clear, scalable technical content (documentation, how-tos, examples) for large audiences.
– A solid production mindset with attention to security, resilience, observability, and supportability within regulated environments.
– Excellent stakeholder and collaboration skills, capable of working across multiple teams to achieve objectives.
It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)
– Experience with developer platform enablement or related initiatives.
– Certifications or knowledge related to cloud platforms or automation tools.
Language Required for the role:
– Fluent proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
