Lumen Dynamics is hiring a Senior Design Researcher at Lumen Dynamics Labs Doha to conduct research that supports Lumen Dynamics’s product innovation efforts. The Doha lab will partner with the Lumen Dynamics Labs Boston team to conduct mixed-methods research to support user experience, industrial design, and consumer research studies. To serve the company’s diverse testing and validation needs, Lumen Dynamics Labs completes tens of thousands of data collections a year and creates best in class experience for our participants. Lumen Dynamics Labs Doha will set the bar for product innovation research in the GCC, providing a best-in-class participant experience and contributing to advancing Lumen Dynamics technology.
We’re looking for a collaborative Senior Design Researcher with experience working across teams and geographies to deliver thoughtful, high-quality research insights. You’re excited to engage directly with our members, work independently, and are comfortable advocating for design research best practices. This position is in-person in Doha, Qatar with potential travel to Boston, MA 1-2 times per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Localize and execute complex research initiatives as part of multi-site data collection efforts to gather global design and product feedback.
– Collaborate closely with the Lumen Dynamics Labs Boston team to plan, execute, and analyze global design studies.
– Support localization of protocols for execution in Doha including any required changes to activities, session structure, or sample in collaboration with cross-site partners.
– Own research initiatives to support region-specific questions and remote global studies as a design research expert.
– Develop and maintain clear research plans, workflows, and deliverables, adapting to evolving priorities and constraints.
– Coordinate and own research timelines and dependencies using project management tools to ensure visibility and on-time delivery.
– Collaborate closely with other members of the Lumen Dynamics Labs Doha team such as Recruitment, Lab Management, and other Researchers to ensure successful end-to-end study delivery.
– Deliver best-in-class customer service to Lumen Dynamics Labs Doha visitors.
– Communicate research updates and findings clearly, translating complex insights into recommendations that inform decision-making.
– Support quantitative research requests from adjacent stakeholders that focus on understanding user behavior at scale, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:

– Bachelor’s degree or professional experience in a relevant field such as user experience research, human factors, psychology,  or a related discipline.
– 3-5 years of experience conducting research in product, design, marketing, or similar environments.
– Experience applying mixed-methods research relevant to software product development and data collections related to hardware.
– Strong project and program management skills, with comfort using tools such as Jira or similar planning frameworks.
– Ability to manage multiple research initiatives at a time and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
– Excitement to work in a high-energy, fast-paced startup environment.
– Open to working a flexible schedule, including evenings at least 2 days per week.
– Fluency in verbal and written English, Lumen Dynamics’s working language.
– Comfort communicating with Doha locals in English and Arabic.
