Senior Data Scientist

ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a small, fast-moving AI/ML team in a technical role focused on applying strong quantitative thinking to practical, ambiguous problems. This opportunity is suited to an experienced engineer or quantitative thinker who can contribute in a zero-to-one startup environment, whether or not data science has been their formal job title.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
– Apply quantitative and engineering skills to develop practical data science and AI solutions.
– Use agentic AI coding tools as part of your daily technical workflow.
– Take ownership of work in an early-stage setting where problems and priorities can change quickly.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
– Five or more years of relevant technical experience, with an engineering or quantitative background such as AI, machine learning, software engineering, mathematics, or data science.
– A quantitative degree from a highly selective university, a mathematics PhD, or equivalent depth of mathematical rigor.
– Experience as an early startup hire, ideally among the first 15 employees, and the ability to work effectively in a zero-to-one environment.
– Daily hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent.
– Strong practical problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguity. Prior retail or fresh-produce experience is not required.
– Willingness to work in a high-intensity, always-on environment.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Annual salary range: €70,000 to €110,000. Visa sponsorship is available.
LOCATION
Hybrid role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates must be based in Berlin or willing to relocate.
