Senior Data Engineer

We are currently partnering with a leading Canadian financial institution that is expanding its Core Data Platform team and is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help deliver multiple high-impact initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, take ownership of projects, and contribute technical leadership from day one. Key Responsibilities Own data engineering projects end-to-end, ensuring quality and thorough documentation Communicate directly with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and proactively manage scope changes Work independently with minimal supervision while identifying blockers early and proposing solutions Provide technical guidance and influence architecture and design decisions Represent the engineering team professionally during stakeholder interactions Requirements 5+ years of Data Engineering experience Strong production experience with: Snowflake dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud Dagster or Airflow Python Advanced SQL AWS and/or Azure GitHub Actions Terraform Location: Canada (Canadian residents only) Type: Contract Originally posted on Himalayas
