Senior Data Architect

In this role, you will ensure data is treated as a strategic enterprise asset , applying robust design standards, governance, and security controls. You will combine deep technical expertise in data modelling and integration with strong stakeholder collaboration skills, creating scalable data solutions that enable trusted analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption across the organisation. Requirements:
10+ years’ experience in data architecture and modelling (conceptual, logical, physical), including documentation of complex enterprise structures. Strong proficiency in SQL and Python , ideally applied in cloud environments (GCP or similar). Comprehensive understanding of data management best practices : metadata, lineage, security, governance, and compliance. Experience establishing data patterns and architectural standards for integration and consumption layers. Excellent English communication skills, including producing technical documentation and facilitating design workshops . Nice to have: Knowledge of enterprise and IT architecture alignment , and how data fits within overall architecture frameworks. Experience in large, matrix organisations with complex stakeholder structures . Familiarity with data governance and metadata tools (Collibra, Erwin, Dataplex) and cloud technologies (Azure/AWS/GCP). Ability to produce clear technical presentations and communicate trade-offs to diverse audiences. Daily tasks: - Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, including canonical data models, metadata, and reference data frameworks.
– Own the target-state architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, as well as end-to-end data flows.
– Design and govern scalable data integration patterns (batch and streaming), ensuring interoperability across multiple systems and platforms.
– Set and enforce policies on data quality, lineage, security, and retention, working closely with engineering and governance teams.
– Translate business requirements into architecture artefacts: data models, data-flow diagrams, interface contracts, and non-functional specifications.
– Act as a Data Architecture SME, supporting engineers, QA, product owners, and analysts in design decisions and technical discussions.
