Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Salary: $120,000 - 160,000 per year Requirements: At least five years of related work experience; two years of cloud security experience is preferred. An undergraduate degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Production-grade proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript. A strong understanding of distributed systems, including event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, API design, and observability. Hands-on experience with at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure, including organization-wide account structures, landing zones, cross-account security patterns, and IAM at scale. A track record of influencing technical direction beyond your immediate team. Responsibilities: Define and own the technical architecture for CSPM tooling, automation platforms, and integration frameworks that scale across thousands of cloud accounts and multiple business units. Design system-level patterns, such as event-driven pipelines, API contracts, and data models, to guide how security findings move from detection through prioritization to remediation. Make architectural decisions about platform extensibility, service boundaries, and data ownership, balancing near-term delivery with long-term maintainability. Architect organization-scale auto-remediation and shift-left enforcement systems, with a focus on fault tolerance, auditability, and graceful degradation when upstream systems change. Evaluate and select tools, frameworks, and integration patterns, and establish technical standards for connecting CSPM systems with enterprise infrastructure such as CI/CD, CMDB, ITSM, and identity providers. Partner with engineering leaders across Platform, DevOps, SRE, and application security to align interfaces, data contracts, and remediation workflows across organizational boundaries. Lead technical design reviews and mentor engineers, promoting strong code quality, systems thinking, and operational readiness. Shape the technical roadmap for AI-assisted security capabilities, assessing where machine learning and LLM-based automation can reduce risk or operational burden and designing systems to deliver those capabilities.
