Senior Business Analyst

Salary: $121,000 - 161,000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Engineering, or Physical Sciences. We are looking for 1–5 years of P&C insurance industry experience, particularly in insurance data management, actuarial practices, and familiarity with ISO/Verisk core business. We value strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and technical skills. We need someone who is self-motivated, customer-focused, and demonstrates leadership qualities, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. We expect working knowledge of SQL, R, Python, or other general-purpose programming languages, along with familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or ThoughtSpot. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required. You should be able to manage several projects at once, work under deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities. Responsibilities: We prepare products for regulators and internal and external customers in a timely and accurate way, including experience review analyses, state loss cost filings, actuarial circulars, customized data analyses, business intelligence dashboards, and thought leadership articles. We write and troubleshoot code to extract data for analysis and reporting. We review the quality of premium, exposure, loss, and claim data submitted by insurance companies for use in actuarial methods and analyses. We develop more efficient and automated ways to improve business processes and the customer experience, including better diagnostics for data quality analysis and improved content visualization and delivery. We help answer questions from regulators and insurers about loss cost filings and other analytic products. We collaborate with core lines business units and subject matter experts across actuarial, data, and technology to improve data quality, product development, actuarial procedures, and user experience. We act as the expert voice for data storytelling, identifying the insights that matter and finding creative ways to communicate them to customers and colleagues.
