Job description
Benefit Systems International is part of the Benefit Systems capital group, operating in international markets. As part of the foreign segment, we are present in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Croatia. We oversee the development of our subsidiaries and provide business, legal, and IT consulting services.
We are looking for a Senior Azure Engineer who will play a key technical role in our Cloud team. This person will not only maintain and improve Azure-based infrastructure, but also provide technical guidance to other engineers, support architectural decisions, promote best practices, and help us build secure, scalable, and well-governed cloud environments.
This role is suitable for someone who combines strong hands-on Azure engineering experience with the ability to advise others, challenge technical decisions, document standards, and communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Due to the international nature of Benefit Systems International’s operations, a significant portion of the work is conducted in English.
Key responsibilities:
– Designing, maintaining, and improving core Azure cloud infrastructure (Virtual Machines, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Application Gateway, WAF, Azure Virtual Desktop, etc.).
– Designing, automating, and improving Infrastructure as Code standards using Azure Bicep.
– Designing, implementing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
– Supporting and optimizing Azure networking designs (VNets, NSGs, VPNs, private endpoints, DNS, routing) alongside general network performance improvements.
– Implementing system security measures and server hardening (Windows and Linux), utilizing Azure's advanced security tools to protect cloud environments.
– Improving monitoring, alerting, and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Zabbix, and related tools.
– Working with Microsoft Entra ID and supporting selected Microsoft 365-related topics overlapping with Azure, identity, security, or endpoint management.
– Participating in incident reviews, root cause analysis (RCA), and proactive failure prevention, including developing proactive handling procedures.
– Creating and maintaining technical documentation, operational runbooks, and system support procedures (e.g., access management, troubleshooting, and reporting).
– Providing guidance and technical consultation to other engineers regarding cloud infrastructure, automation, security, and operational best practices.
– Staying current with Azure services, Microsoft cloud technologies, and industry best practices.
Requirements:
– At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with significant exposure to Azure environments.
– Fluent in all Azure environments,
– Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure Bicep or similar tools.
– In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL Database, Azure Virtual Machine, Azure Storage, among others.
– Demonstrated ability to deploy and manage Azure monitoring and logging services.
– Understanding of networking concepts (VNETs, NSGs, VPNs, etc.), identity services (Microsoft Entra, RBAC), and security best practices.
– Skilled in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
– Experience with Zabbix
– Ability to create clear technical documentation and communicate technical concepts to different audiences.
– Experience in deploying, managing, and optimizing applications using Azure Container Apps, with an understanding of microservices architecture and the ability to leverage Azure's serverless containers efficiently.
– Experience with Azure Databricks for big data analytics, understanding of data engineering and data science workflows, and the ability to integrate Azure Databricks into the overall DevOps strategy for data-intensive applications.
– Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex technical topics, and drive improvements.
– Strong communication skills and willingness to support, mentor, and advise other engineers.
– Good command of English, both written and spoken (B2/C1)
Nice to have:
– Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, SC-300, or equivalent practical experience.
