Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Salary: $68,000 - 108,000 per year Requirements: 12 years of experience engineering and improving Azure cloud platforms Hands-on Terraform experience, including building reusable modules Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD workflows Good understanding of cloud infrastructure, identity, and platform architecture Ability to work independently, make practical recommendations, and drive technical work forward Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills Nice to have: experience with Terraform automation and collaboration tools (TACOS), such as Atlantis, Digger, or similar Nice to have: strong Azure networking knowledge Nice to have: experience with cloud platform governance, landing zones, and workload migrations Responsibilities: Assess our current Azure platform, gather requirements, and understand dependencies across applications and shared services Identify ways to reduce cloud waste and retire unused or unnecessary resources Develop a pragmatic target architecture and subscription strategy, including high-level effort and timeline estimates Build reusable Terraform modules for platform foundations, including landing zones, networking, and identity Deploy and validate initial foundational components Help establish a governed, code-managed approach to provisioning subscriptions and shared services Support the migration of workloads to the new platform Contribute to our engineering practices through stand-ups, sprint planning, and day-to-day collaboration Technologies: Azure CI/CD Cloud DevOps GitHub Support Terraform More: We are seeking a hands-on Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to help lead a cloud platform transformation for a globally recognized company. In this platform-engineering role, you will assess an existing Azure environment and help create a more consistent, secure, and scalable platform using Infrastructure as Code. The position focuses on transformation rather than steady-state operations or rebuilding every application deployment. You will work with our Cloud Architecture and DevOps team, collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams, and establish foundations for incremental workload migration. This is a remote contract opportunity for someone located in the Eastern Time Zone or able to work Eastern hours.
